What People Say:
Chris (Club chairman Widnes Tennis Club)
"I have known Mark for nearly 4 years following his appointment as Head Technical Coach for Widnes Tennis Club in 2020. I have found him to be a very well prepared and knowledgeable coach, always seeking to develop and improve on his high standards.
He has excellent communication skills, leaving no one in any doubt as to what is expected of themselves to progress in the sport. He has good rapport with his students, me being one. His lessons are thoroughly researched, with excellent supporting materials to demonstrate what is required of the student, and he doesn't rest until he gets what he wants.
Lessons are always fun, exciting, and always different. When you leave the court after a lesson with Mark, you always feel that you've been challenged, more knowledgeable, and eager to progress further in the sport.
Great character and all-around good man. "
Kelly (Tennis parent)
"Mark has been our daughter’s tennis coach for almost 4 years.
He is dedicated to her reaching her full potential through positive encouragement, good, strong communication and a real determination to provide the tools for physical and mental growth that he knows benefits her game and life beyond tennis.
He is a fantastic role model who has such a positive impact on our daughter’s tennis journey."
Alice (Former player)
I chose to work with Mark as he always showed an immense knowledge of tennis and all the little pieces involved in becoming a good player.
After seeing him captain the under 14 Cheshire team I could tell that he would be a good coach for me to progress as a player. After I tore my ACL I thought that my chances of going to American college on a scholarship was out of the question however, after sitting down with mark and talking about the goal and the journey to get there I was feeling more confident.
Mark designed our sessions to really focus on what I needed to work on in order to reach my goal. After working hard for about 1.5 years with him, I was able to get a scholarship and it wouldn’t have been possible without Mark and his dedication to his players.
He is a great coach who is always researching new drills and focuses on players as an individual and what works for them to help them succeed.
